Following the leader
$0
The book is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the influence of subordinates and followers on the activities of leaders and the development of organizations and social processes. The author deliberately avoids an approach that places leaders at the center of the discussion of power, influence and authority. According to the proposed concept, exaggerating the role of leaders in relation to the role of subordinates means distorting the true dynamics of the relationship between them. The book contains a wealth of factual material on different types of followers and subordinates, categorizes them and describes the specifics of the influence of different types on the social processes of power in the state and organizations, as well as the trends in the development of these processes, taking into account modern communication technologies and the Internet. Particular attention is paid to the division of responsibility for the development of events between leaders and their followers. The author clearly demonstrates that the increasing role of followers and subordinates creates more complex conditions for the activities of leaders and increases the demands on their personal qualities. The era of undivided "imperial" leadership is coming to an end - says Barbara Kellermann. UDC
